The National Medical Commission bill, drafted in 2016 has not yet got passed in the parliament.
The bill has become a joke with the healthcare practitioners, particularly the allopathic medical practitioners. The bill has some big faulty pitches-
EFFECTS-
1. The doctors have already conducted strike over the bill.
2. The competition in the medical field will rise and at the same time there might be a large pool added to the medical practitioners which might not be competent.
3. MCI regulations doesnot allow the experienced MBBS doctors to conduct the ultrasound or even caesarian deliveries and the NMC BILL also doesnot refers to this issue.
The bill has become a joke with the healthcare practitioners, particularly the allopathic medical practitioners. The bill has some big faulty pitches-
- To create a new council for the supervision of medical institutions and all the medical exams but the interesting fact is the officials of Medical Council of India are appointed as the members of National Medical Commission.
- The main aim is to get rid of the corrupted system of MCI, but the officers of MCI are appointed for the same. A kind of self improvement program.
- To create a bridge course, which would enable the AYUSH practitioners to prescribe the Western medicines, and this way the Govt. wants to be praised by enabling the AYUSH doctors to prescribe the allopathic drugs.
